In the 80's I was definitely into thrash but more particularly I was much more into crossover. The tunes of DRI, Excel, Cryptic Slaughter, COC, and the Accused fueled many a skate session and of course beer drinking session. The aggression of hardcore punk melded with the heaviness of metal was the perfect concoction for me.
Very few of the new "revival" of thrash and crossover bands capture my attention like the originators of the sub-genre. On the Thrash Metal side WARBRINGER gets my attention where many of their peers don't. When crossover skate-thrashers ROAD KILL CARNIVORE came to Denver recently I was blown away. On top of being some really nice and funny guys they ripped a new ass in the unsuspecting crowd of punx, crusties and general weirdoes.
Check out the video interview with ROAD KILL CARNIVORE below, and when your done watching that little goodie scroll down for some live footage I captured the other night.
