Onslaught VI album cover art

Unholy hell, is it 1986 (the year Sy joined and the acclaimed "The Force " was unleashed) all over again!?! Is this a release from some kids throwing a nod to the old school?? Hell no, this IS the OLD SCHOOL throwing a nod to... FUCK YEAH, WE STILL GOT IT!!

Who are these old dogs that are tearing shit up with their new release?? Onslaught, that's who!!

Onslaught has been around since the first generation of thrash metal. Damn, I think, if memory serves me correctly, their first full length, after their departure from Hardcore punk, "Power From Hell " was released on Brian "Pushead" Schroeder's Pusmort Record label here in the states; I think I even remember seeing an ad in the back of Thrasher skate mag, when it was still news print, way back in the day!!

Their new album "VI" just killllzzzz; firing on all cylinders, this thrash machine attacks like a finely tuned Panzer. Onslaught has always been, in my mind, just a step or two short of being in the top tier of thrash metal, and believe me, I mean no disrespect by that at all; that's not to mean their albums haven't been phenominal, they have, it just seems they had lacked a certain something in the past.  Well, I am here to tell you that whatever had been missing in the formula, they have certainly fucking found it now!! Sy has dialed his vocals in and Nige has got himself absolutely locked and loaded on this release. I would not hesitate placing "VI" shoulder to shoulder with great works by Kreator, Vader, Sodom and Destruction. This album, from start to finish, is a raging slab of THRASH METAL that borders on Death Metal!!

I will refrain from rambling on and on about this release, but what I will say however, is that "VI" is a good, solid thrash record from a group who have found their spark and is running with it; there isn't a bad song here!  Onslaught, unlike so many, continue to get better with each and every album; this, being their best one to date!!

In closing, by the time the last deadly beats of "Enemy of My Enemy" had stopped pounding in my chest I was left craving more!!
