Also news is coming in that says Iowasaka is playing a show on September 10th...holy shit, that's tomorrow! At the EichKult Festival In Dorsheim, Germany, and that's huge they haven't played in god knows how long!
Here are a couple o tracks from their 2001 release Vine Of Souls!
And while we are talking about Iowasaka, that reminds us of Jello's Label Alternative Tentacles (how could it not since they got the Iowasaka?) , anyway they've got a "Back To The Oldschool" Sale goin on through the month of September, where you can score some classics such as The Eat, Crucifucks, The Dicks, Th' Imbred, Ratos De Porao, and the Subhumans among others for $5 greenbacks a pop, go check em out! It's AT so you know it's quality.
Recently we reviewed the album "Flying Tigers" by the L.A. oldschool metal outfit of White Wizzard. They've just released a set of tour dates and here they be:

Not long ago we reported that Krysta Martinez of Transient was hospitalized from an auto accident the band had while on tour, news is Krysta is recovering well and has returned to the stage! That indeed is good news!
Conspiracy Records is putting out a call to all bands who would like to appear on the "A Soundtrack For The Apocalypse Vol. 2" compilation, if you and your band have what it takes, you can submit songs to them for consideration, deadline is Sept. 20th. For more info you can write 'em now.
We have word that crust punx Dresden is hard at work in the studio for their next 7" EP titled "Extinguish the Cross" and we are looking forward to it big time! You can still score the LP "Final Hour" on color vinyl at Profane Existence if ya curious.
And speaking of PE, they have an awesome four way split 7" which includes, Embrace The Kill (Portland band which lives inbetween punk and black metal), Hellmouth (metallic crust) In Defence (punk/thrash metal crossover from Minneapolis, and bad ass hardcore punk band Opposition Rising (from Beantown)!
This album is being put out with the collaboration of Crash Records, Rodent Popsicle and Profane Existence...fuggin' awesome! Score it now for only $3 bucks plus postage!!! Also, this EP has an exclusive "Punk as fuck" cover for the EP provided by Ben Crew, which will make it highly collectable.
And if that wasn't enough, PE is repressing (due to the fact that the original 2008 release by Give Praise Records sold out in a heartbeat) In Defence's debut LP "Don't Know How To Breakdance" with four bonus tracks taken from the split with Black Market Fetus and the TCHC 7" comp. Also, In Defence is going to start touring on September 30th and will be bringing a small distro with them, so be sure to catch up with 'em.
And finally, man when PE has news, they got news don't they?, Crust Punk group Appalachian Terror Unit's Black Sands EP is still on hold since they are trying to get a snippet of an interview with Michael Moore that aired on Democracy Now cleared for use on the album...they're still waiting. The album is due out any day now, so keep an eye on PE's site.
You can follow the links and download some shredding Appalachian Terror Unit tunes and listen to some amazing stuff from Oi Polloi!, don't forget to "share" to give 'em some social network juice!
Ok, here you go you power metal maniacs, Sabaton, Sweden's epic power metal band, has been blown away by the success of their first live album "World War Live-Battle of The Baltic Sea" and to celebrate you can score a free MP3 of the song "Cliffs of Gallipoli (live)" RIGHT THIS SECOND!
Also, with the anniversary of the 2001 attacks coming up, Boston's Defeater has decided to donate proceeds from their merchandise sales to the soldiers returning home suffering from PTSD via the Wounded Warrior Project . Through September 30th $1 on each shirt sold at their webstore will be donated and their Label, Bridge 9 , is adding to the cause by carrying an exclusive t that will be sold for one time only during September and 100% of those proceeds will also go to the Wounded Warrior Project. The band comments:
"As the 10 year anniversary of September 11 approaches, we want to recognize the soldiers who have been fighting in the wars that resulted from the tragedy. Between now and September 30, defeater, Bridge Nine and All-In Merch will donate a portion of our merch sales, including every exclusive shirt, to the Wounded Warrior Project -- an organization that helps war veterans recover from the physical, emotional and psychological scars left by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. This organization allows these heroes to successfully return to the life they left behind to fight for our nation's freedom.
Whatever our political beliefs, each individual deserves to return home to a support structure that helps them heal from conflict. Every person we know and love that is willing to put their life on the line for the people they care about deserves our attention and what little we can give back in return. Thank you for your purchase, and to all of our deployed friends and family."
And putting the cherry on top is our own news that ThrashHead.com has launched a Social Network which is specifically designed to allow users a means to make it their own. InDaPit.com, is about bringing folks from all walks of life together who share the common affinity for Punk and Heavy Metal.
It's not just some forum, it's a place where you can share and learn, make it your own and have the peace of mind that no one is collecting information on you. You can be free to talk the way you want, write what you want, and create something really special for others to enjoy!
Members can create groups of their own, documents outlining any interest they see fit, from music to engineering. You can share images, videos and music with everyone on the site or you can keep things private.
Now's the time to get into da pit, cause registration is open to everyone, but soon, the ability to register on your own will be closed. Access to the community will be by invitation only or by you requesting a membership via ThrashHead or InDaPit.
Current members will be the "seed" group, once registration is closed, they will have the ability to invite others of their choosing.
It really is about having a social network which is of the users, by the users and for the users...not some gargantuan data collecting monstrosity.
InDaPit is a place where you can take your shoes off, slap on some good tunes and just be who you are.
