This band has been around for a hell of a long time and hopefully you should have heard them or at least heard of them. They've been around since 1984/1985 and are a thrash metal/crust punk band from the United Kingdom. The genre of crust punk got their name from their first demo "Ripper Crust". They are a hugely influential band that have been putting out great albums for many years that you should go out and buy and play loud to piss of your neighbors.

Hellbastard "officially" split in 1992 and founder member "Scruff" went on to form, among others - "Nero Circus" "Sidewinder" "King Fuel" "Heavy Water" "The Dischargers" and "Moodhoover",..... all of whom released albums. They reformed in 2008 with the album "Need To Kill" which received rave reviews in the worldwide press and completed a full headlining European tour in 2009 and two extensive tours of the USA in both 2009 and 2010. Now we have their latest recording, a five song e.p. with a re-recording of 1988's "We Have Evidence" and a ska type song called "Throw De Petrol Bomb".

There is not a duff track on these release with "We Had Evidence" probably being the standout on here. The song is the longest one on here at six and a half minutes long, but has so much going on in it that you will lose yourself in how good it is. It has Winston Churchill mixed into the song, some old school metal and some power riffing on it that you just wonder how they thought of all of this and how it all works together. The song "throw De Petrol Bomb" starts off like it could have been on "Sandinista" by The Clash and turns into its own version of ska with a great message that makes you want to really take notice of the protest lyrics. Three songs on this release are also on the split with Dresden, "System Whore", "Arcadia", and "Sons Of Bitches", but you need to get this one for the other two tracks because this whole piece of wax just kicks ass! It really has touches of thrash, crust, new wave of heavy metal, and hardcore that all seem to work and even the ska song works too.

I really do recommend this album and hope that if you are one of the few that haven't heard them before, that you get off of your ass and get this one. This vinyl release will be limited to 1000 copies so don't wait too long to get this piece of powerful music before they are all gone! Check them out on their official website, Facebook, Reverbnation, Myspace, and on Twitter.
