Ex-members of ABADDON make their return in this modern, dark, hardcore outfit. By modern I mean they don't trap or paint themselves into any corners and they incorporate many different styles taken from their wide array of influences.
ENABLER might be compared to NUX VOMICA minus the IRON MAIDEN worship and at times even remind me of CONVERGE. Their varied influences keep things interesting and unpredictable, you don't know when the next twist in the musical road is, but when it comes it arrives with some surprise.
Around the first corner we are confronted with some spastic blast beats that highlight their grind influences, but just as you are adapting to the first twist we round the next bend and are stabbed in the ears with Black Metal inspired, frenzied, guitar riffage. But even as you pick yourself up to dust off, the mightiest of hardcore breakdowns clobbers you over the head.
Crust, hardcore, grind, metal and punk rock, it's all on the menu and the helpings are plentiful. I understand that this release was made available as a 7" and digital as well as cassette. I have the cassette version is made available from Sacred Plague records.
